Centre for Drug Research

http://www.frw.uva.nl/cedro/
The Centre for Drugs Research, (CEDRO), was established in 1996 as a department of the School of Environmental Sciences (Faculteit der Ruimtelijke Wetenschappen), at the University of Amsterdam. Although drug research has been carried out at this faculty for a long time, a separate official research group, currently consisting of five persons, was created only recently. CEDRO's goal is the determination of various aspects of the drug problem from a socio-scientific angle. The Centre mainly relies on outside funding. Due to the outstanding reputation of its researchers as well as the special position held by Amsterdam and the Netherlands in the field of international drug research, CEDRO has gained much esteem in the scientific community and might become even more renowned in the years to come.

DRC Net (The drug reform coordination network)

http://www.drcnet.org/
DRCNet was founded in response to the violence, disease and misery spawned by our nation's flawed drug policy. Our position is that the evidence on drug policy overwhelmingly favors decriminalization and that reform is needed immediately. We challenge anyone who disagrees to read the evidence and meet us for The Great Drug Debate. There are no arguments for a total prohibition that stand up to the scrutiny of facts and logic.

Though the decriminalization movement eventually fell victim to the "war on drugs," NORML has remained the nation's principal organization dedicated to ending marijuana prohibition.
Today NORML serves as an informational resource to the national media on marijuana-related stories; lobbies state and federal legislators to permit the medical use of marijuana and to reject recent attempts to treat minor marijuana offenses more harshly; and serves as the umbrella group for a national network of citizen activists committed to ending marijuana prohibition.
